Throne of Glass- Sarah J Maas

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Rating: 5 Stars

The Breakdown: Celaena Sardothien is an assassin who has just spent the last year of her life as a slave in a mine. The King has decided to host a competition to find his own personal assassin to do his bidding and the Prince has chosen Celaena as his Champion. As Celaena trains and competes in Tests to win her freedom, she grows closer to Prince Dorian and Chaol Westfall, Dorian’s best friend and the captain of the guard. When death hits the castle during the competition, Celaena is forced to figure out what happened while also protecting herself.

Favorite Quote: "We all bear scars…Mine just happen to be more visible than most”

The Review: I have been a huge fan of SJM for years ever since I read her Court of Thorns and Roses series. That series is one of my absolute favorites and I have been wanting to start reading the Throne of Glass series for quite some time. I started this book many years ago, but life got in the way and I just never finished it. When I picked this back up, I was enthralled from the very beginning and could not put it down. I loved how the story did not focus so heavily on the romance aspect. Romance is my favorite genre, but I also don’t like for the main character’s life to completely revolve around whether they get the guy or girl. I love how Maas was able to focus the story on Celaena’s journey through the competition and her journey to finding herself again after being enslaved for a year.

The Verdict: I adored this book! I would absolutely recommend this book to fans of this genre. It’s full of action, romance, mystery, suspense, and so much more. If you have read this book, comment below and tell me what you thought of it!
