Angels and Demons

Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

"We have to face difficulties to find out what our true strengths are. How we come back from failure is a very valuable test."

Once again, I will state that I am not usually a fan of books about angels or anything similar. Sweet Evil is the exact opposite of what I expected it to be. This story has more of a focus on fallen angels, whereas most books mention them as a sort of backdrop for the angels. I loved the characters in this book and the whole story overall. There were a few instances where I was pretty sure the story wouldn't pick back up and I would have to stop reading it, but then it always did pick back up and I couldn't put it down.

"Looking back, none of this would have happened if I'd brought lip gloss the night of the Homecoming Dance."
Generally, I'm not a big fan of audio books because it's difficult for me to concentrate on them, but I got this one for free so I figured I would give this one a shot, plus this has been on my list for a while. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like this because the beginning was slow, but that's the case with a lot of books so I stuck with it through the first few chapters and then I couldn't stop listening to it. I loved this book and am currently deciding if I want to read the next book as an eBook or an audio book.

"I'm looking at you. Why are you always trying to hide how pretty you are?"

I generally do not like books that have anything to do with angels. I've read a few and they just aren't really my thing, but I absolutely loved this book. Clara's story is riveting, quirky, sweet, and dramatic all at once. I especially love how the book is both predictable and unpredictable at the same time. I'm sure that doesn't really make any sense if you haven't read the book, so I guess you'll just have to go read it. :)
