"When there was nothing but space between you, everything felt like a leap,"
I've read mixed reviews of this book, ranging from "I loved it" to "I hated it" with no in between. It started out good enough, with the first few chapters being slightly interesting and almost pulling me in. But, in the end, I just couldn't get into the it and couldn't finish the book.

A Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson

Lately, I've really been into Historical Romance. After reading the Gemma Doyle Trilogy, I got into a kind of funk where I had the hardest time finding a good HR book to read. It seemed like every book that sounded even remotely interesting turned out to be not so great. Also, I've been reading a lot of Nora Roberts, so I needed a break from the classic romance novels. A Countess Below Stairs was exactly what I was looking for. The story is beautiful, sweet, and intriguing. This was one where I had a difficult time putting it down. If you're looking for a simple, historical romance read, then look no further!
