"How can something feel so crucial in the moment and then seem completely trivial after the fact?"

This book really hit close to home for me. In short, it’s about a girl named Maguire who has been through a lot and has come to the conclusion that she is ‘bad luck’ and tries her best to avoid interaction with pretty much anyone except her family. Until she meets Jordy, that is. The book starts out with one of Maguire’s therapy sessions, so you really dive into the heart of the book right away. Honestly, the first 30 or so pages were difficult to get through for me, but once I did, I was hooked. This is one of the best books I have read. Of course, I don’t suffer from the same issues that are addressed in this book, but I do suffer from anxiety and I could definitely relate to Maguire’s issues. I would recommend this book to everyone, but especially those who have any sort of mental illness. Paula Stokes manages to bring light to the struggles that many of us face without making a big deal out of it and even throwing in a romantic element. Don’t hesitate, get your copy now!
